As you may know, the Nike Dunk has been getting a lot of love this past year. From collaborations with Ben & Jerry’s, Grateful Dead, and Travis Scott, the silhouette has seen many different and unique iterations. The list continues to grow as Slam Jam, a fashion, music, and culture retail platform, founded by Luca Benini in 1989, decides to put their own spin on the Nike Dunk High.
This upcoming release includes two different colorways: light grey and black. While the light grey colorway has a consistent tone throughout the sneaker, the black colorway displays crisp white panels partnered with black detailing.
While the sneaker seems to boast a minimal design at first, the attention to detail reflects the ethos of the Slam Jam brand and its founder. This is seen on both the sneaker’s tongue and heel where an upside-down Swoosh is marked. Furthermore, this silhouette comes with translucent soles and a mid-panel with ornamental perforations. Lastly, a synthetic mold takes the place of the Swoosh, extending past the ankle flap in a gloss finish.
The light grey colorway is scheduled to release on October 3 exclusively at Slam Jam, while the black colorway is scheduled to have a wider release on October 30 across retailers worldwide.
