Jordan Brand has been aggressively pushing Air Jordan 1 Lows lately with a barrage of different colorways hitting the market. The most recent one that popped up on the Nike Philippines website was the Air Jordan 1 Low New Beginnings and that’s what we have to unbox and review for today.
The Air Jordan 1 Low 2020 New Beginnings features the gym red and white colorway that the recent Jordan 1 High ‘New Beginnings’ pack had. We have the Air Jordan 1 logo embroidered at the back of the heel, a nicely padded insole for cushioning, and Michael Jordan’s 23 jersey number on the tongue. Style-wise it’s a clean red and white low top sneaker that’s easy to wear if you mute the rest of your outfit.
What I love about the Jordan 1 Low is that it’s far more comfortable because of the better cushioning compared to the highs and mids. The toe box also feels a little bit roomier which is a heaven sent for people with wide feet like myself. My only major complaint is that the back of the top of the heel is a bit too stiff. It has a tendency of digging into your flesh which can get annoying. I’m just hoping that through time it becomes softer.
Over-all it’s a great low top sneaker with the exception of that annoying upper heel part. I was able to get mine via the Nike PH website but as of this writing it is already SOLD OUT.
