As the opening of Jordan Brand’s first-ever Southeast Asia store being in the Philippines is already exciting enough, there’s more to that. In order to make the occasion truly memorable for Filipino fans, Jordan will be releasing a limited-edition Air Jordan IV Retro representing the capital of the Philippines–Manila.
While the rendered photos do not do justice, actual on-hand photos taken by Sole Movement’s Martin David showcase every reason why this is one of the best quality ever on an Air Jordan 4–even rivaling PE and Friends and Family pairs.
The Air Jordan 4 Manila features premium materials resembling different types of leather throughout the sneaker. Representing the tropical landscape of our country, the remains predominantly green. To add contrast, minor detailing is done in yellow such as the shoe tag and hang tag with both donning the word “Manila”.
Further representing the Philippines, the outsole of the Air Jordan IV Retro “Manila” makes use of a vibrant red and blue, which resembles the colors of our flag. Partnered with the yellow detailing found in the Jumpman logo, all the colors are complete. Other premium touches include waxed laces and a leather-lined insoles.
Keeping the sneaker truly special, only 150 pairs will be released to the public in an effort to make the sneaker extremely limited. With this, each pair is numbered in the inner tongue out of the delegated 150.
Due to the limited quantity of the pair, the release will take place via raffle. To join, head over to Nike Park Philippines’ Official Instagram Page. Whether you win or lose, the Manila Jordan store will open on December 3, giving a chance to all sneakerheads and Filipino fans to roam around and browse the shelves.
(Editor’s Note: due to current quarantine restrictions, you will need to book an appointment to visit Jordan Manila in Taguig.)
