Just last week, we were met with the release of the Nike Air Max 1 x CLOT. Unsurprisingly, the pair sold out within minutes and was raffled off at Commonwealth with very limited winners. Thankfully, a very similar sneaker is soon to be released: the CLOT x sacai x Nike LDWaffle. The LDWaffle is the product of a rare occurrence: a three-way collaboration between CLOT, sacai, and Nike.
What proves to be similar between both of CLOT’s projects with Nike is the utilization of tan and bright orange within the sneaker. Such colors are evenly spread out through the shoe with a bright orange heel tab, swoosh, and midsole, accompanied by a predominantly tan upper. Providing a little more contrast to the shoe, red finds itself on the base swoosh and midsole as well.
In true sacai and LDWaffle fashion, the pair features a stacked swoosh, double tongue, and extended sole, offering a deconstructed aesthetic that proves to be popular nowadays. All of these design elements are achieved through a translucent TPE upper and suede overlays, which sit on top of a foam midsole and gum rubber outsole.
Considering this sneaker is the product of three streetwear powerhouses, all brands ensured their name is marked on the sneaker. CLOT x sacai x Nike branding is found on the pair’s heel to remind fans who’s responsible. Judging from the release of the Nike Air Max 1 x CLOT and sacai x Nike LDWaffle releases in the past, we expect there to be hype surrounding this drop. While there is no word from Nike regarding the official release date and price of the CLOT x sacai x Nike LDWaffle, leak accounts suggest the pair will release late this year with a retail price of $170 (~Php 8.1k). Stay tuned for more information regarding this release!
