Due to the cancellation of the San Diego Comic-Con, which was scheduled to take place this year, DC announced in June that they would have their own online convention. Entitled DC FanDome, this entertainment and comic book convention was held on August 22. Taking place over at DC’s Website, the event did not leave fans disappointed. Despite the complications of COVID-19, DC announced several major projects their fans can look forward to in the upcoming years, 2021 and 2022.

The Batman
Starring Robert Pattinson as Batman and Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, The Batman’s teaser looks promising. As the teaser premiered during DC’s online event, many fans were left unsatisfied, eager to watch the complete film. Although the film is only 30% done with filming, it is scheduled to release in 2021. Watch out for this reboot of the Batman film franchise!
The Suicide Squad
If you were curious to see who would be apart of the upcoming film, The Suicide Squad, James Gunn revealed each character. The star-studded cast includes Idris Elba as Bloodsport, John Cena as Peacemaker, and Pete Davidson as Blackguard. Along with the roll call, a teaser with movie footage and a behind-the-scenes glance was released to the public!
Wonder Woman: 1984
Thanks to Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, and director Patty Jenkins, the trailer of Wonder Woman: 1984 was revealed. Being the sequel to 2017’s Wonder Woman, this film will be the ninth installment in the DC Extended Universe. Cheetah and Max Lord are set to be the film’s two main villains. Cheetah is a friend of Wonder Woman’s who covets her power and turns evil while Max Lord is a businessman who grants consumers wishes, at a cost.
Justice League: The Snyder Cut
DC’s Justice League film came out back in 2017. Due to the loss of his daughter, director Zack Snyder had to step down during the editing phase and Joss Whedon took over. Unfortunately, many fans were left disappointed with the final product. With many fans curious to see what Zack Snyder could have produced if his time was not cut short, Justice League: The Snyder Cut aims to answer that question.
Gotham Knights
With the same developer as Batman: Arkham Origins, Gotham Knights is a co-operative adventure with the characters Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl, and Red Hood. These characters are set to protect Gotham City as Batman is thought to be dead. In order to protect the city, the roster will face off against a villainous group known as the Court of Owls and other members of the Dark Knight’s rogues gallery.
