The happy-faced cartoon has won the hearts of kids for generations and is one of the first things usually anticipated in Disney theme parks. In the world of pop art, iconic artists like Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol have shared their take on the adorable figure. Also on the list? Legendary creative, Keith Haring.
Haring is known for his Mickey Mouse artwork which roams the streets of New York. As an artist, he shares wanting to work for Walt Disney. Other brands that have featured Haring’s work include Coach, Uniqlo, and Swatch.
Levi’s has its share of Disney-themed merchandise, but this collaboration with Keith Haring is particularly special. During his life, Keith had believed that art was for everyone. This vision is now relived by bringing his art to fashion that many people can own. The collection consists of hoodies, t-shirts, and even Mickey Mouse denim jeans–all of which you can customize according to your preferences!
There’s even a build-your-own custom Levi’s Trucker Jacket that you can personalize with iconic Keith Haring-designed Mickey Mouse graphics–though that one is exclusive to Levi’s store in the US. If you can’t visit the stores (for various reasons which include COVID concerns), Levi’s will be selling pre-customized trucker jackets through their app.
Of course, the 3-way collaboration includes Levi’s signature comfort and durability. We’re eyeing the white shirts for our streetwear needs, but the unique-looking jeans are definitely worth collecting as well.
Disney x Keith Haring x Levi’s collaboration price
Prices in the line start at $30(~Php 1.4k) for the shirts. Levi’s Philippines will most likely make the collection available locally, so keep your fingers crossed! The whole collection is expected to drop on April 16 via the Levi’s App.
