Be it for the working class chap, neighborhood punk rocker or hipster, Dr. Martens definitely knows how to turn it up a notch. Fresh from their Chinese New Year Collection, the brand returns with a Keith Harring collection with the 1460 boot and a couple of 1461 shoes.
Launching for the Spring/Summer 2021 season, this collaboration marks the company’s first crossover with the late iconic artist. Each pair off the collection highlight Harring’s trademark illustrations giving them a pop art feel that’s exhibit worthy both on the shelves and the streets.
“As part of a series of collaborations with radical artists, DM’s are shining a spotlight on Haring’s legendary artwork. The New York-based artist’s colorful, cartoonish graphics were deep-rooted in social activism,” said Dr. Martens in a statement. “His publicly-minded pieces questioned authority whilst being accessible and upbeat. There was always more than met the eye.”
The said collection will be ready to order this January 22 on Dr. Martens’ website. Prices range from $130(~Php 6.3k) to $160(~(Php 7.7k) for adults, and $65(~Php 3.2k) to $90(~Php 4.4k) for children.
Also, Dr. Martens Philippines also hinted on a local drop, so that’s good news!
