When you talk about New Balance, we usually think that their top-end sneakers are the Made in USA and Made in UK ones. Little do they know that New Balance has an ultra-luxe Made in Japan series, and they have teamed up with M. Lab Atelier for a special 327 that uses Tochigi leather.
New Balance has worked with M. Lab Atelier with the Made in Japan M1300 JPJ, but their work on the 327 takes the retro-inspired silhouette to another level. Tochigi leather is a supple tan-colored material that’s native to Japan and has been in production for over 90 years. For this iteration, the 327 Made in Japan has Tochigi leather across the entire upper–from the toe boxes to the medial N logos and padded ankle collars, giving the sneaker an ultra-luxe, premium look that will put most luxury sneakers to shame.
You get cream laces, a white midsole, and gum outsole to complete the look of this luxury sneaker, and a proud “Made in Japan” branding on the tongue tags in gilded gold will let you remind you that this is the very best that New Balance has to offer.
Being very elusive, the 327 “Made in Japan” will be sold via raffle in New Balance Japan on October 15 for 71,500 Yen(~Php 29k). That SRP will get you two pairs of 990s from Teddy Santis’ collection, but there’s no question about the impeccable quality of these sneakers.
