Pockets, ahhhh how can we live without them? From extra pouches on bags, to added small features on cargo pants and all, we seem to be having a deep affinity for them. But how about pockets in, say, sneakers?
Keeping that in mind, the kind people of New Balance has added a nice new twist on the X-Racer silhouette–a new Utility iteration with some interesting details.
The shoe starts off with a nice X-Racer tongue tag with leather uppers. Utilitarian details adorn the offering with large rope laces to round them out. Other features like intricate top-stitching and a large tri-toned ABZORB midsole to cap off the sneaker’s bold design–the overall vibe makes the X-Racer Utility a sneaker that you would rock when doing a bunch of errands.
The star of the show here are the cargo pockets (yes, pockets with an s), which can be used for interesting things–if you know what we mean. They are small, but perfect for those little “knick knacks” which we will leave to your rich imagination. Similar to the concept of the Jordan 6 X Travis Scotts, these border more on aesthetics than actual function but they can come in handy.
New Balance X-Racer Utility Price
If you fancy this utilitarian runner, the New Balance X-Racer Utility is available in white, black and tan will be sold on March 27 on New Balance’s website for ¥18,000(~Php 8.1k). Being a very niche sneaker, there’s a very slim chance that New Balance will actually make the X-Racer Utility available in the Philippines.
Don’t get disappointed just yet, as Sole Academy might make them available! Given that they brought over the Tokyo Design Studio RC_1300, we might be able to get our hands on the X-Racer Utility locally!
In other news, this ASICS X Coca Cola collab is summer ready!
