In the world of Air Force 1s, people often talk about either the high-cut model or the low-cut version. The mid-cut model is the middle child, often underappreciated by sneakerheads.
While Nike has been sparse in releasing mid-cut Air Force 1s as of late, the Swoosh enlisted Commes Des Garcons to give this underappreciated silhouette a makeover. The result? A unique-looking Air Force 1 Mid.
With either white or black colorways to choose from, both models are dressed in supple, soft leather with a unique deconstructed finish.
The unique deconstructed look includes uncut and aggressively extended panels that are only identifiable through the stitching. Comme Des Garcons branding is found on the strap and on the insole—which is also decked in soft, supple leather.
Both pairs are expected to drop later this month, with Dover Street Market as one of the first retailers expected to have them on sale. Given the collab, expect these to fetch a premium.
