Regardless of how crappy 2020 is due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the year is a milestone for a few pop culture icons. One of them is Doraemon, which is celebrating its golden year through various collabs like Uniqlo UT’s t-shirt collection.
Being a big celebration, Nike SB is preparing a special Dunk High to pay tribute to one of Japan’s most iconic anime characters.
Dressed in trademark Doraemon colors, you get white tumbled leather and blue suede panels for the upper, red for the laces and Swoosh, and hints of yellow on the tongue. The color blocking done on this pair is spot on with what Doraemon looks like in Japanese Manga.
While the pair does not have any distinct Doraemon branding, the color blocking is a fitting tribute to the popular anime character.
According to reports, this pair will be an Orange Label release, so the pair will be quite elusive. Expect it to drop later this September in limited quantities.
