Once known for having the latest news in streetwear, Japanese magazines were the go-to for diehard streetwear enthusiasts. In line with this, a collaboration between October’s Very Own (OVO) and BAPE has just been teased through a Japanese magazine.
While details about the upcoming drop are scarce, we know that some items apart of the collection are phone cases, hoodies, jackets, caps, crewnecks, T-shirts, a face mask, and packing tape. As for pricing, the products are expected to be closer to BAPE’s price range, rather that of OVO.
The collaboration was teased through the Instagram account, @ovoupdate, a page dedicated to OVO news, leaks, and upcoming drops. Based on the teaser, we can see the trademark OVO owl motif superimposed on the classic BAPE camouflage pattern. On other designs, the owl is replaced with the brand’s name “O.V.O.”.
Canadian rapper, Drake, who happens to be the co-owner of OVO, seems to be popping in recent streetwear news. Recently Drake revealed his collaboration with Nike for his upcoming Certified Lover Boy Album. Check out more about that in this article.
The close tie between music and fashion is nothing new. While these cultures are known to heavily influence each other, Kanye West, American rapper and record producer has paved the way for modern artists to make a similar move. As it turns out, Drake is following in his footsteps and making the steady transition from music to more fashion projects.
What do you think about this teased collaboration? Keep your eye out for more future information!
