Distressed jeans or shorts are fairly common in the world of street fashion. Distressed sneakers? Not so much.
This might change soon.
In line with Nike’s “Move to Zero” initiative (Nike’s their journey towards zero carbon & zero waste), is a collaboration with READYMADE, a Japanese men’s street and contemporary fashion brand. READYMADE was founded by Yuta Hosokawa and is known for its khaki palette, upcycled materials, and distressed pieces. The brand’s signature raw and unfinished look is now translated to Nike’s classic Blazer Mid, along with a camouflaged design often present in the READYMADE’s work. Honestly, this pair is giving me OFF-WHITE vibes, and why not? For a fraction of the cost (around $160 or around Php 7.7k), people with tighter budgets will be able to pull off the same look.
This sneaker is an alternate version of the collaboration’s orange colorway that’s posted in on READYMADE’s Instagram. The collaboration is expected to be released on February 27.
Speaking of OFF-WHITE, there maybe a new “The 20” collection coming soon!
