We have talked about how the Travis Scott x Fragment Jordan 1 High generated much controversy–both globally and especially in the Philippines. We have heard countless stories on how confirmed pairs were reportedly forfeited, but Hypegeek’s Colin was one of the very, very lucky ones who won the pair in the raffle fair and square via Jordan Manila‘s “random” raffle a few weeks ago.
Considering how big of a collaboration this Air Jordan 1 is–with two of the biggest names teaming up for the sneaker–being able to cop this sneaker for retail is indeed going to let you proclaim the #blessed statement.
As for the sneaker itself, the Fragment collab is similar to the first Travis Scott Jordan 1 High except that browns are swapped for Blue. Including Fragment’s famous Thunderbolt logo, this collab feels like a variation of the extra-rare Fragment Jordan 1 Highs from 2014.
With the Travis Scott collaboration, this Jordan 1 High has that unique inverted Swoosh, ribbed ankle collar with a sharper cut (compared to your typical Jordan 1 High), Cactus Jack branding, and a Sail White color on the midsole. You also get extra sets of laces in pink and blue to further personalize this grail pair.
Compared to the first Travis Scott Jordan 1 High that had nubuck panels, the one makes use of tumbled leather throughout the upper.
What are Colin’s general thoughts about this grail pair that is currently reselling for above Php 100k? Save for being a Travis Scott and Fragment collab, this Jordan 1 High’s colorway is not as extraordinary as the first Travis Scott Jordan 1 High especially since we have seen a number of Jordan 1s that utilize the white/black/blue color blocking in the past.
What are your thoughts about this grail pair? If you are into something vintage, we talk about the joy of looking for old (and wearable) Dunks.
