More and more sneakers get transformed into unusual iterations–from clogs to slides as what adidas has showcased so far. New Balance and Jordan Brand also have their own pair of clogs, and Nike thought it was also cool to transform the iconic Air More Uptempo into a pair of cozy slides.
Paying homage to the pair made famous by Scottie Pippen, the Air More Uptempo slides will arrive in black/white and will have the trademark oversized Air branding on both the lateral and medial side. Like the actual sneaker, these pair of slides come with nubuck for the strap, along with Nike Air cushioning for the midsole. Swoosh branding can be seen on the footbed and on the strap–both in tonal black.
Despite that it is a pair of slides, Nike make sure that it is a proper homage by giving it the same outsole design as the OG pairs.
Overall, we kind of like Nike’s approach of making the Air More Uptempo into a pair of slides, similar to what it did to the Air Max 90. We don’t know when they will drop, but expect them to be priced at under Php 4k–remember, that Air midsole is expected to make them quite pricey.
