When Nike announced the Air Zoom Alphafly NEXT% as part of its performance sneaker offerings for the now-postponed 2020 Tokyo Olympics, that running sneaker is intended to give runners the best possible performance to break records.
With its unique design, the guys over a Nike thought of this: what if the Air Zoom Alphafly NEXT% is redesigned as a lifestyle sneaker? By reusing and re-engineering the original prototype, they came up with the Air Zoom Type.
Designed as a lifestyle sneaker, the Air Zoom Type has a deconstructed upper comprising of soft perforated suede, honeycomb-printed Swooshes, bold tongue branding, and thin rope laces.
For the midsole, the Zoom Alpha Type gets a double-stacked EVA foam, two Zoom Air Pucks for forefoot cushioning, and a full-length TPU shank for support.
To launch in black and white, the Zoom Alpha Type will launch on June 5.
