Through the past 16 iterations of the KD line, the KD4 is arguably the most popular signature sneaker of Kevin Durant. We saw a retro of the KD4 back in 2018 with the “Battle Tested” colorway., which was inspired by the PE pair that Durant wore during the 2012 NBA Finals, and Nike has big plans for the KD4’s return in 2024.
Aside from reports that some of the hype KD4 colorways like the “Galaxy” and “Weatherman” are set to return in 2024, Nike is preparing a new “Year of the Dragon” colorway for the retro basketball sneaker.
Based on hands-on photos of what appears to be an early pair, the medial Swoosh appears to be embroidered and has a dragon detail to go with the theme. The KD4’s trademark midfoot strap has a Red Swoosh, with the upper dressed in a dominant khaki colorway. The sneaker has earth colors, with brown for the laces, KD branding, sock liner, beige for the midsole, and gum outsoles.
According to reports, the “Year of the Dragon” KD4 retro is set for an early 2024 release for $130, or around Php 7.5k.
