The wait is almost over: after being suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NBA season is set to resume on July 30. For the much-awaited return of every Pinoy’s favorite sport, Nike is set to unveil 11 new basketball sneakers. Check out the upcoming pairs, all of which are expected to drop this August:
Lebron 17 Low
The epitome of Pinoy Pride is with this upcoming all-red colorway of the Lebron 17 Low. An official collaboration with Titan (their second with Nike and technically their fourth collab overall), this one swaps the usual dark blue used on previous collabs with a fiery all-red upper with gold accents and signature Titan and Lebron branding.
Lebron 17
The graffiti motif is a trademark LeBron design that started with the Lebron 4. Nike is bringing that back with the Lebron 17 in two flavors: one in Fire Red and one in Cold Blue. Both pairs look cool, and we think some sneakerheads might grab both pairs and wear them in mismatched fashion.
Zoom Freak 2
Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the latest NBA stars to get a signature sneaker from Nike, and his second signature sneaker debuted last July 25 with the Naija colorway. This August 7, the Zoom Freak 2 will drop in a familiar (and classic) white and cement grey colorway that reminds us of one of the Air Jordan 4’s iconic colorways.
Kyrie Low 3
Kyrie Irving’s third signature sneaker is getting the low-cut treatment, having a lower height while retaining the trademark midfoot strap. For this new model, you have two options: either a clean Eclipse colorway that utilizes mostly white and grey or the loud Inner Harmony colorway that sports a plethora of colorways.
PG4
Paul George’s Adapt BB-inspired fourth signature sneaker is getting three new colorways since there is no news yet of a PG5 sneaker in the works. For the upcoming collection, there will be two new Gatorade colorways—one in dominant orange and one in lime green with accents of orange. There will also be a new ACG-inspired colorway, this time focusing on turquoise green, white, and grey.
KD13
For Kevin Durant’s 13th signature sneaker, we are getting a clean white and gold colorway that is inspired by one of the summer basketball circuit’s biggest tournaments. The colorway is reminiscent of one of Durant’s old PE sneakers, and the addition of mint green accents and a gold gridline upper give it a fresh look.
Air Zoom BB NXT
Rounding up the upcoming releases is the Air Zoom BB NXT in a patriotic USA colorway. This non-signature Nike Basketball sneaker gets a dominant red upper with Navy blue on the ankle collar and outsole and white on the Swoosh silhouette and midsole. Classic USA Olympics-inspired graphics on the tongue completes the look.
All 11 models are slated to drop locally this August, starting with the LeBron 17 Low Titan on August 1, Which pair will you most likely cop?
