To celebrate 90s culture, Vans teams up with Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon for a collection inspired by the hit anime–and makes select pieces available in the Philippines. The collection features some of Vans’ iconic silhouettes like the Authentic, Old Skool, and Sk8 Hi, while featuring elaborate graphics that pay reference to iconic Sailor Moon characters.
Leading the collection it the Sk8-Hi Stacked, which infuses textiles with satin quarters and smooth leather overlays decorated with Sailor Moon’s transformation brooch and bow. The sidewall has a printed graident design, translucent heels and toe bumpers, and Sailor Guardian planet symbols.
The Authentic, on the other hand, features graphics of the Sailor Guardians and Tuxedo Mask on its toebox, while the La Costa Slide-On comes with a synthetic nubuck strap that features Sailor Guardian graphics.
Old Skool Patchwork features a unique patch print design that highlights the anime while being paired with Vans’ iconic Checkerboard print across the sneaker. Those who prefer something more subtle can check out the Old Skool with its starry, nighttime-inspired design with the Sailor Guardian planet symbols found throughout the upper. As for the ComfyCush Slip-on, you get a graphic-laden upper that features the Sailor Guardians and the Dark Kingdom.
